ALI INTRODUCES 100% RECYCLED AIR BAGS TO ITS OPERATIONS For many years now, we have been using air bags instead of styrofoam “peanuts” as void fill in shipping cartons. These air bags offer excellent product protection while the product is in transit, and add minimal weight to the shipment, an attractive advantage over paper or other void fill options. In an effort to be even more environmentally responsible, we have introduced a new type of air bag to our operations. This air bag is made from 100% recycled material. This new air bag material consists of 100% pre-consumer recycled material, and offers the same product protection characteristics as the air bags made from virgin material. This recycled material is also somewhat less expensive than the air bags made from virgin material, helping to keep our clients’ shipping costs down. We continually evaluate and explore opportunities to make our operations more environmentally conscious, and economical for our clients.
