PACKAGING – MINIMIZING TRANSIT DAMAGE ON PAPER PRODUCTS

When a new client asked for our help in reducing shipment damage, we were glad to help. This client sells specialty papers and inks for digital printing and graphic arts applications. These papers come in various sizes from 8.5” X 11” to 39” X 44”, and they are very expensive.

Our client was experiencing damage when these papers were shipped via small parcel carriers such as UPS and FDX. The slightest paper crease or ding on a corner would ruin an entire box of paper, and our client would have to replace the paper for their customer at no charge.

We worked with several packaging experts to develop a shipment packaging solution that would be reasonably economical and would provide superior product protection while in transit. We developed a solution that worked for our client’s budget, and virtually eliminated shipment damage. In addition, the solution we developed improved the appearance of the paper when it was received by the customer. Our client was delighted.
